Lowe’s (Mooresville, N.C.) appointed Richard Maltsbarger COO effective Feb. 3, 2018.
Maltsbarger will take over for Rick Damron, who will retire Feb. 3 after 36 years with the company. Damrom will remain an employee until Feb. 23 to support Maltsbarger’s transition into the role.
Maltsbarger joined the company in 2004 as director of customer analytics. He has held various roles at Lowe’s since. He was most recently the president of Lowe’s international division.
“Richard is a proven leader with a keen understanding of our business and industry,” said CEO Robert Niblock in a statement. “He brings vast consumer knowledge from various roles within Lowe’s and has been instrumental in the development and implementation of our strategy.”
