Fiserv ForumFiserv ForumAs crowds gather tomorrow to watch the Milwaukee Bucks battle the Phoenix Suns on the Fiserv Forum court in game 6 of the NBA finals, some members of the Menominee Tribe in Wisconsin will also be taking note of the court itself, Spectrum News 1 reported.

The court at Fiserv Forum is made from maple trees grown in forests managed by Menominee Tribal Enterprises. “It’s a real big deal for the tribe,” Nels Huse, millwork specialist with Menominee Tribal Enterprises, told Spectrum News 1. Wood from the tribe’s forest is also used for the floors at the Bucks’ practice facility and the court for the Wisconsin Herd, an affiliate of the Bucks.

The timber for the Fiserv Forum court was cut in 2018, and when it was delivered for the flooring, the Menominee Tribe performed a prayer ritual and a prayer to Mother Earth.

As Milwaukee fans hope for a victory tomorrow, some are hoping the native timber under the Bucks’ feet will bring good luck to the team, as well.
