EU, Indonesia Sign Illegal Lumber Pact

The European Union (EU) and Indonesia signed an agreement Wednesday to ensure the sustainability of wood exports and stop illegal logging, according to Reuters. Indonesia exports about $1.2 billion in timber and paper annually to the EU. Reuters writes that the deal should help attract U.S. business seeking compliance with the Lacey Act, which was amended in 2008 to fight illegal logging.
