The CEU Library will offer a multitude of CEUs covering a broad range of wood flooring topics at various skill levels.
The CEUs have been approved by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Interior Design Continuing Education Council (IDCEC). The AIA certifies CEUs for professional architects, while the IDCEC certifies CEUs for professional designers with the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), the International Interior Designers Association (IIDA), and Interior Designers of Canada (IDC).
Here is the schedule for these four architecture/design-oriented CEUs:
April 11
- 11 a.m.-noon: "Back to Basics - Wood Flooring 101" with Brenda Kubasta
- 1-2 p.m.: "It's Not Easy Being Green - Sustainability of Wood" with John Lessick
- 10-11 a.m.: "This Isn't Your Grandma's Floor - Ornamental Wood Floors" with Brenda Kubasta

Back to Basics-Wood Flooring 101 Assists architecture and design professionals in understanding the characteristics of hardwood flooring so that they can effectively specify wood flooring for their client projects. Learning objectives include wood floor history, advantages, types, species, sustainability and maintenance.
This Isn't Your Grandma's Floor-Ornamental Wood Floors Course includes an overview of decorative flooring and the many aspects and options available when designing a floor. It will show historic and contemporary designs and include actual samples and visual photos of numerous award-winning flooring designs made primarily with wood. Learning objectives include things to consider when designing a floor, NWFA-recommended guidelines for selecting materials, material options between styles, species and colors, design options, and surface finishes and techniques.
It's Not Easy Being Green-Sustainability of Wood Assists architecture and design professionals in understanding the green attributes of hardwood flooring so that they can effectively specify wood flooring for their client's projects and meet potential green building program criteria. Learning objectives include renewability of wood floors; life cycle analysis; impact of wood flooring on natural resources, global warming, landfill waste, and indoor air quality; low-VOC finishes and adhesives; sustainability of wood flooring; maintenance of wood floors; and the value of wood floors.
Beauty is More Than Skin Deep-Maintaining and Refinishing Wood Floors Assists architecture and design professionals in understanding the processes involved in properly maintaining and refinishing hardwood flooring so that they can effectively specify wood flooring for their client's projects. Learning objectives include wood floor maintenance, identifying existing finishes, greenhouse effect, gaps and cracks, pad and recoat, and sanding and finishing.
