Connor Sr. was inducted into the Wisconsin Forestry Hall of Fame, which honors individuals who have contributed significantly to the practice and progress of forestry in Wisconsin. Connor was recognized for his contributions to sustainable Wisconsin forestry at the induction ceremony in Laona, a town he founded to support his logging company in 1896.

Connor was recognized for his contributions to sustainable Wisconsin forestry at the induction ceremony in Laona, a town he founded to support his logging company in 1896.
Connor also founded the company towns of Stratford, Wis., and Connorville, Mich., and was also highly involved in county and state government, being a key player in Wisconsin's progressive movement and serving as lieutenant governor from 1907-1909.
The Hall of Fame exhibit displaying plaques of all 44 inductees is housed in the College of Natural Resources building on the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point campus.
