
They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery. These leather rugs from Moore & Giles are definitely more flattering than, say, wood-look laminate. The leather is precision-cut into strips and hand-tapered using a weaving process based on the ancient practice of cuir bouilli, using hot water to permanently form the leather. The Tree Art rugs, which could just as easily be used as wall hangings, are backed with a ÂĽ-inch pad and non-skid backing.
The rectangular piece pictured below is 5 by 7 feet and sells for $9,800. The round rug is 28 square feet and sells for $7,810.
