Laminate flooring manufacturer Quick-Step (Dallas, Texas) launched a hardwood floor collection for the first time at Surfaces 2014 in Las Vegas last week, and celebrity designer and Quick-Step design partner Erinn Valencich was on hand to promote the new line:
The Q-Wood by Quick-Step Hardwood Collection, like the company's laminate products, is a fashion-driven, low-maintenance line installed via Quick-Step's patented Uniclic glueless installation locking system. The floors also feature Opulus Performance Enhanced Finish, a finish with the appearance of oil but the low maintenance of a UV-cured system. The finish drew interest on the show floor last week with demonstrations of how scratches in the finish can be repaired by a technique of abrading the scratch and spraying it with a proprietary product offered by Quick-Step that blends in seamlessly with the existing finish; here Harry Bogner, senior vice president and general manager of hardwood for Quick-Step parent company Unilin, is seen demonstrating the technique:
Q-Wood by Quick-Step includes eight oaks, three hickories, two maples, and one walnut, each with three surface options: smooth, soft-scraped and wire-brushed accentuated by soft-scraped tooling.
