The National Wood Floor Association held a training workshop on the last day of The International Surface Event West last week in Las Vegas.

The daylong workshop, Environmental Effects on Wood Flooring, was hosted by Cloud Carpets & Draperies. It was led by four instructors: Aprilaire’s Randy Lenz and Janis Rozenbergs, NWFA Vice President of Education and Certification Brett Miller and NWFA Regional Instructor Roy Reichow of National Wood Floor Consultants.

Cloud Carpets & Draperies owner Gary Kloth said the class was well worth it.

“I learned some ‘real life’ information rather than just facts and standards,” he said. “This will certainly help me to better serve our customers.”

Thirty-one participants attended the workshop. They were Shawn Atamanchuk, Big Sky Enterprises and Service Inc.; Joe Audino, Rode Bros. Floors; Gary Bittner, Unilin/Mohawk Industries; Bob Blochinger, Blochinger & Company; Steve Brattin, SVB Wood Floor Service; Aaron Burnett, MBD Floorcovering Inspection Service; Dan Caufman, Hardwood Specialties Inc.; John Dailey, Midwest Restoration & Inspection Service; Gregory Farris, Farris Floor Inspections; Vincent Ferranti, Floor Covering Inspections; Barry Flath, Barry Flath; Karen Gross, MBD Floorcovering Inspection Service; Bryan Hunsberger, The Master's Craft; Dave Jensen, Sunwood Distributors; Richard Kass, Master Flooring Inspectors & Consultants; Robert Keep, Canflor Inspections; Gary Kloth, Cloud Carpets & Draperies; John Lessick, Apex Wood Floors Inc.; Steve Marley, Johnson Premium Hardwood Flooring; Greg Martin, Finmac Lumber Ltd.; Phil Matthews, The Master’s Craft; Anthony Palandro, Anthony Palandro Flooring Inc.; Marcos Proti, CMC Hardwood Floors Inc.; Joel Radford, West Wind Hardwood Inc.; Lavinia Rathbun, Rathbun Hardwood Floors Inc.; John Rudolph, SVB Wood Floor Service; Kevin Schleweis, Advanced Flooring Inspections; Tom Smith, Thomas M.
