Lumber Liquidators (Toano, Va.) unveiled a testing facility at its new distribution center in eastern Henrico County, Va.
The testing lab measures 1,500 square feet. Inside are two conditioning rooms with temperature and humidity controls. It also includes two chambers for formaldehyde emissions testing that are on par with the facilities used by the California Air Resources Board (CARB), according to a statement from Lumber Liquidators.
The facility is one of a network of testing facilities operated by Lumber Liquidators in the U.S. and Asia.
"Quality and safety have always been top priorities for our associates and our customers,” said Robert Lynch, president and CEO, in the statement. “With over two million satisfied customers, we believe Lumber Liquidators has delivered on those priorities—and we will continue to invest in these important areas as we move forward."
The facility will subscribe to Lumber Liquidators’ nine-step quality assurance program that has been in place for years at the company, according to the statement.
A number of lawsuits have been filed against the company regarding the levels of formaldehyde in its flooring products.
The company has maintained its innocence in each case.
