The S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller U.S. National Home Price Index recorded a 5.6 percent annual gain in October, an increase from a 5.4 percent gain in September.

The 10-City Composite reported a 4.3 percent annual increase in October, up from 4.2 percent in September, while the 20-City Composite posted a year-over-year gain of 5.1 percent, up from 5.0 percent in September.
The highest annual gains were reported in Seattle, Portland and Denver—10.7 percent, 10.3 percent and 8.3 percent, respectively.
The National Index reported a month-over-month gain of 0.9 percent. The 10- and 20-City Composites both posted a 0.6 percent month-over-month gain.
“Home prices and the economy are both enjoying robust numbers,” said David M. Blitzer, managing director and chairman of the Index Committee at S&P Dow Jones Indices, in a statement.
