Armstrong Flooring (Lancaster, Pa.) is slated to lay off about 100 white-collar employees, according to a report published by LancasterOnline.
News of the terminations came from employees with Armstrong, according to LancasterOnline, who said that they were informed by management that the number of layoffs could be roughly 100.
The company did not provide an exact number of anticipated layoffs.
Armstrong said in a statement that the previously announced transfer of marketing, merchandising and sales responsibilities to its distributors will result “in the elimination of some positions,” and that it would provide further information following the financial results of its regular quarterly report next month.
“Our focus has been on communicating directly with affected employees and helping them to transition to their next opportunities,” the company stated.
