President Biden issued an executive order for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to issue revised guidance to employers on workplace safety during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The order gives OSHA two weeks to issue the new guidance. The order requires OSHA to weigh emergency temporary workplace standards, “including with respect to masks in the workplace,” and to review enforcement efforts and identify “any short-, medium-, and long-term changes that could be made to better protect workers and ensure equity in enforcement.”
The order also tasks OSHA with coordinating with states to “bolster protection” for workers during the pandemic.
The full executive order can be found here.
