Small business optimism inched upward 0.8 points in February to a level of 95.8, according to the National Federation of Independent Business Small Optimism Index.

The level remains below the 47-year average reading of 98.
“Small business owners worked hard in February to overcome unexpected weather conditions along with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic,” NFIB Chief Economist Bill Dunkelberg stated. “The economic recovery remains uneven for small businesses, especially those still managing state and local regulations and restrictions.”
The NFIB Uncertainty Index decreased 5 points to a level of 75.
