Four people were charged in connection with a “lumber theft ring” accused of stealing more than $40,000-worth of lumber and other building materials from job sites, the Parker County, Texas, Sheriff’s Office announced.
After complaints of the thefts, investigators tracked the suspects to the Fort Worth area and located hundreds of plywood sheets and dimensional lumber stored under tarps at various residences, according to a press release. The suspects were identified via security video recordings of the alleged thefts.
“Our investigators worked diligently to locate the suspects and recover the stolen building materials,” Parker County Sheriff Russ Authier said in a statement. “All property was accounted for through proof of purchase with the assistance of the lumber companies. We are pleased to be able to return the stolen items to the victims.”
