A woman who was involved in the murder of a San Diego flooring business owner in 2018 was sentenced to 16 years to life in prison, SD News reported.
Lorena Del Carmen Espinoza, 37, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of Ghedeer “Tony” Radda, 49, who owned Bottom Price Flooring. Espinoza distracted Radda in the back of the flooring store before Radda was shot three times by another person. The trial of Kevin Eugene Cartwright, 54, the person accused of pulling the trigger, is scheduled for May 18.
Espinoza was reportedly told she would receive $150 from Cartwright for her participation in the crime, which included robbery.
“[Radda] was a successful small businessman/owner,” Ghayda Young, Radda’s sister, told SD News. “He liked to help others. That was his life. And he did it through his flooring business.”
Cartwright is charged with first-degree murder during a burglary and robbery.
