AHF Products (Mountville, Pa.) announced it will close its Titusville, Pa., factory and transfer the production of its solid and engineered wood flooring products to its plants in West Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee.
AHF Products (Mountville, Pa.) announced it will close its Titusville, Pa., factory and transfer the production of its solid and engineered wood flooring products to its plants in West Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee.
The Titusville location will stop production Oct. 30. The plant employs under 100 people and represents under 1% of AHF’s manufacturing capacity, according to the company.
AHF determined the Titusville plant didn’t align with the company’s efforts to simplify its business model.
“Unfortunately, the more expensive local lumber costs and the lack of equipment to dry lumber onsite does not allow us to scale production," AHF Products President and CEO Brian Carson said in a statement.
"It was a difficult decision because it impacts people’s lives,” Carson added. “The entire team has performed very well over the years, and we are grateful for their dedication and service.”
The closure will create additional job opportunities at other AHF facilities, according to Carson.
The company also announced it has finalized the planned closure of its facility in Oneida, Tenn., which manufactures floor cleaners and currently employs four people. The closure will also be completed in October.
AHF recently purchased the North American assets of Armstrong Flooring for $107 million and currently operates nine U.S. manufacturing facilities, five for wood and three for vinyl, and one engineered hardwood plant in Cambodia.
