The European Union proposed retaliatory tariffs on American products March 12, following the tariffs the U.S. imposed on European steel and aluminum.
President Donald Trump announced the tariffs on all steel and aluminum imports on Feb. 10, and they went into effect March 12.
The list of products the E.U. could target includes wood products like lumber, veneer, moulding, flooring, plywood and OSB.
Canada also added tariffs to another $20.6 billion worth of U.S. goods, which includes wood products. This is in addition to the 25% retaliatory tariffs Canada placed on $20 billion worth of U.S. goods on March 4.
Canada also initiated a complaint with the World Trade Organization regarding U.S. tariffs placed on steel and aluminum.
