After a sharp drop in 2023, the wood floor market in Europe bottomed out in 2024. But last year, according to officials at the European Parquet Federation (Brussels, Belgium), the market appeared to stabilize. The year started relatively well, but activity slowed after the summer. Certain costs, such as timber and energy, remain elevated in early 2026.
This outlook is based on preliminary estimates from representatives of FEP member countries and could change once full data is available in June at the FEP General Assembly & Parquet Congress in Madrid, Spain.
“The current market environment continues to lack visibility, making trends difficult to predict,” the federation said in a statement. “Still, the sector anticipates benefits from early signs of improvement in construction activity, as well as from the European Commission’s latest postponement and planned simplification of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).”
