In its 2025 sustainability report, Välinge Innovation (Viken, Sweden) reported that 73% of its total energy consumption came from renewable sources in 2025, up from 69% the year before. The company’s Swedish operations now run on 100% renewable electricity, according to the report, and a transition to biofuel heating at its Swedish headquarters is targeted for completion in 2026.
Also detailed in the report, Välinge launched a new wood surface formula free from added formaldehyde and melamine, designed for use in wood-based flooring and other building products. The company also began phasing in components made from biomass-balanced materials, which it says carry a 75% lower carbon footprint than conventional fossil-based alternatives.
Välinge expects to hit net-zero emissions by 2040 and reduce direct (scope 1 and 2) emissions 75% by 2030, measured against its 2023 baseline.
