U.S. Finds Multilayered Wood Flooring from China was Unfairly Dumped

The U.S. Department of Commerce issued preliminary results from an administrative review of an antidumping duty order on multilayered wood flooring from China, finding that the imports were unfairly dumped in the U.S. at heightened rates.

The 2016-2017 review of 146 companies determined Chinese producers dumped the engineered wood flooring at rates as high as 96.51 percent. Producers now face the prospect of higher antidumping rates on imports.

“This is a very positive result for the domestic multilayered wood flooring industry, as it recognizes the high levels of dumping that have been occurring and helps ensure that the domestic industry competes on an even playing field with foreign producers,” stated Tim Brightbill of Wiley Rein, counsel to the American Manufacturers of Multilayered Wood Flooring.

The Commerce Department is scheduled to issue final results in the review in April.
