
Here’s a nice trick that costs next to nothing and makes sanding a little bit easier. Cut an old broom handle to about 3 feet long, drill a hole in the end and insert a lumber crayon. Then, between cuts with the big machine, use the crayon to mark the floor every 4 to 6 feet. Marking the floor like this makes it easier to keep up with where you’ve sanded.
