Chris Velazquez of Pro Wood Floor Supply Inc. in Deerfield Beach, Fla., recalls a job from his contracting days that was memorable:

"We were on a job site in North Carolina in the middle of the back woods; we were sanding, staining and coating 1,200 square feet of red oak strip. There were no dumpsters on the job, so we asked the contractor where we could throw away our dust and he said, 'Just give it to me.' We gave him some bags. And then a couple of hours later we came up with some more bags of dust, and he was there taking the bags of dust and using a cardboard box to throw them on a fire. When he threw one on, it would create giant mushroom clouds of fire. He was standing there, laughing like a maniacal crazy person, enjoying it. We stepped back and said, 'Here's some more dust for you, bro.'"
