This issue's tip comes from Kyle Neuroh, owner at Nashville, Tenn.-based Neuroh Contracting:
No contractor looks forward to removing particleboard—it is so weak that it breaks apart and doesn't pull up the nails with it. Here's a trick we use that makes it easier. Use a hole saw without the drill bit to drill a circle around the nails. That way you can remove the full sheets and easily pull out the nails afterwards.
