After two and half years of building Rubio Monocoat hardwax oil sales in the North American market, WD Flooring is transitioning all Rubio Monocoat distribution direct sales to Rubio Monocoat USA of Oxnard, Calif. The transition has always been part of the Rubio Monocoat strategy but is taking place earlier than planned due to WD exceeding its goals for distribution in advance of schedule, the company says. The change goes into effect today.
"We knew Rubio Monocoat was the best finish in the market, having done our research from 2007 to 2009, but we felt that we could help Rubio Monocoat reach the desired distribution partners coast-to-coast and educate hundreds of contractors through product knowledge meetings," said Peter Connor, president of WD, in a statement, adding that the company thought that as products were getting wider and longer, contractors needed products that would not fracture, break and panelize.
As part of the transition strategy, which began last March, Rubio Monocoat USA has hired sales representatives coast-to-coast. Rubio Monocoat USA recently added Alan Neary and Johannes Boonstra.
"We really want to thank WD for helping to position Rubio Monocoat USA in a way that will allow us to increase our customer service levels and continue to grow Rubio Monocoat," added Patrick Mervyn, director at Rubio Monocoat USA, in a statement.
Going forward, all existing WD customers will be transitioned to Rubio Monocoat USA, and WD will continue to assist in developing new customers and promoting Rubio Monocoat throughout North America.
