The Memphis, Tenn.-based Hardwood Forest Foundation's education video program "Truth About Trees" was named a Bronze winner in the 35th annual Telly Awards.
The program, which explains the benefits of properly harvested forests to young children, was one of 12,000 entries submitted to the nationwide contest. It was entered in the "Non-Broadcast Productions - Education" category.
"The overwhelming positive response we've received from educational outlets in the world of academia, the forest products industry and now the broadcasting industry has been incredible," said Truth About Trees host and Foundation celebrity spokesperson Tommy MacDonald in a statement. "To be recognized on this level validates the production in the world of media."
This year's Telly Awards were judged by a panel of more than 500 past Silver Telly award winners. Entries do not compete against each other, but are judged against a high standard of merit.
"To receive a Telly Award is truly an honor and I have great pride in the work we did with 'Truth About Trees,'" MacDonald said.
The "Truth About Trees" program was also shared on the trade show floor this year at Surfaces in Las Vegas in January and the National Wood Flooring Association's Wood Flooring Expo in Nashville in April.
