Lumber Liquidators (Toano, Va.) contributed a $50,000 to the No Barriers USA charity for the organization’s annual No Barriers Summit, which brings together people with various disabilities and challenges them intellectually, emotionally and physically to enrich their lives.
The Summit wrapped up July 12 in Park City, Utah, and included hands-on clinics, outdoor excursions, films, art, music, leadership exercises and more facilitated by scientists, inventors, academics and practitioners.
The organization was founded by Erik Weihenmayer, the first blind climber to scale Mt. Everest. Lumber Liquidator owner and acting CEO Tom Sullivan met Weihenmayer in 2001.
"From the moment I met Erik, I was inspired by his message of reaching for the highest goals and not letting anything stand in your way while pursuing them,” he said in a statement. “I am proud of the support Lumber Liquidators has provided No Barriers USA over the years and how we have embodied its ideals in all that we do."
