Newly built, single-family home sales decreased 6.8 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 482,000 units in June, compared with a record-setting rate of 546,000 in May, according to the National Association of Home Builders.

Regionally, home sales increased by 28 percent in the Northeast. The Midwest, South and West saw declines of 11.1 percent, 4.1 percent and 17 percent, respectively.
