China revised its policy earlier this month after a risk assessment determined Zika transmission through shipments of cargo was low risk.
In March 2016, the Chinese government began requiring certificates of disinsection, which in this case means the killing of live mosquitoes, their larva and eggs, from all countries on its Zika-invested list. China added the U.S. to the list after the World Health Organization listed the U.S. as a country reporting mosquito-borne Zika virus transmission on Aug. 2.
