Man Steals Hardwood Flooring With Help From Lowe’s Employees

The customer is always right?

A shoplifter walked into a Detroit-area Lowe’s on Oct. 12 and convinced store employees to help him carry $2,500 worth of wood flooring to his truck without paying, according to The Oakland Press.

The man arrived at Lowe’s in Bloomfield Township, Mich., the evening, and proceeded to stack boxes of wood flooring onto a flat cart. He told a cashier he already paid for the merchandise and walked outside where he loaded his truck. Then he returned to the store for more.

Employees helped him get another pallet of hardwood flooring from the shelf, walked out with the man and proceeded to lift the flooring into the bed of his truck.

Loss prevention officers learned the man didn’t pay for any of the flooring, but only after he had already left the premises.
