The Philadelphia 76ers were scheduled to host the Sacramento Kings at home on Nov. 30, but the game was called off due to condensation on the court inside the Wells Fargo Center, according to an Associated Press story posted on the NBA's website.

One news reporter uploaded a video of him skimming his hand across the court surface. He showed his fingers, glistening with moisture, to the camera.

The AP's report pointed to two potential factors—the basketball court is on top of an ice hockey rink that hosted a game the night before, and the city experienced unseasonably warm, humid weather the day of the basketball game. Philly.com’s Keith Pompay reported that someone in arena operations “dropped the ball” and did not turn the indoor temperature down after the hockey game.

Players said the court was slippery during the morning’s shootaround, and the problem worsened by pregame warmups. Kings’ center DeMarcus Cousins attempted to help prepare the court by pushing around a pair of mops before the game was officially called.

“It was pretty bad,” Cousins said. “I’ve never seen anything like it before.”
