Home prices increased 3.9% year-over-year in January, according to the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller U.S. National Home Price NSA Index. The increase was up from annual growth of 3.7% in December.
The home price data was gathered prior to the coronavirus crisis, which began to impact the U.S. in late February.
The 10 City Composite annual increase grew 2.6% during the month, and the 20 City Composite increased 3.1%.
The highest year-over-year gains among the 20 cities were reported in Phoenix, Seattle and Tampa. Phoenix increased 6.9% and both Seattle and Tampa reported increases of 5.1%.
