The U.S. Commerce Department postponed its final ruling regarding an investigation that found hardwood plywood exported from Vietnam was being sourced from China and circumventing U.S. duties.
The new date for the final ruling is July 14, according to the Decorative Hardwoods Association.
âThis case, filed by the Coalition for Fair Trade in Hardwood Plywood, has been going on for about three years,â DHA President Keith Christman said in a statement. âAt least duties have been applied since the time of the July 2022 preliminary ruling.â
The preliminary ruling found that a significant amount of hardwood plywood exported from Vietnam to the U.S. is being sourced from China and should be subject to antidumping and countervailing duties, some up to 200%.
