GoFundMe Aims to Bring Wood Floor Masterpiece to Orlando

Night Watch Gfm

Well-known wood floor pro and instructor Lenny Hall has launched a GoFundMe fundraising campaign to bring Dutch artist Jakko Woudenberg’s wood floor version of Rembrandt’s ‘The Night Watch’ to Orlando, Fla., for the NWFA Expo. Hall’s goal is to raise $20,000 in time to ship the massive piece from the Netherlands by April 2 to ensure its arrival in Orlando by April 20.

The 195,000-plus wood pixel replica would be showcased during the expo. The majority of funds will go toward covering the cost of overseas freight and land haulage, the GoFundMe page says.

“Seeing this incredible piece in person is an unforgettable experience. More importantly, we hope it will inspire young people to view the wood floor trade as more than just hard labor, but as a true art form—one that combines skill, creativity, and passion,” Hall wrote in the description for the GoFundMe campaign. “If everyone can pitch in by even a few dollars, we can work to bring this masterpiece of floor art to the U.S., where it will inspire so many young people to consider working with their hands and minds in a very rewarding trade.”
