Lumber Liquidators (Lawrenceburg, Tenn.) will permanently close its Henrico County, Va., distribution center on June 30, terminating about 65 positions, according to a letter filed under the federal Worker Adjustment Retraining Notification Act and reported on by Virginia Business.
Founder Tom Sullivan, who left the company in 2016 and then bought it in 2024 after it declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy, confirmed the closure is related to the company’s relocation of its headquarters from Virginia to Tennessee, according to the report. The Lawrenceburg, Tenn., expansion is expected to create 76 jobs, with about 20 Henrico employees accepting positions there, the report said.
The closure follows the announcement of Bed Bath & Beyond’s intent to acquire Lumber Liquidators’ parent company, Sullivan’s private equity firm F9 Brands Inc. The deal is expected to close this month for nearly $150 million.
