Teak is currently one of the most popular flooring species in Mexico City, along with red oak and tzalam (also known as Mayan walnut), says Abraham Moreno, commercial director of Ciudad de México-based Marca Madera. The flooring is typically straight-laid, although herringbone is also prevalent. In terms of color trends, wood floors tend to range from dark brown to light blond.
