Rome has more wood floors than most Italian cities, says Pietro Corrao, who operates Corrao Pietro Parquet in Via Camillo Miola in Rome. One of the most common styles of those floors in the Eternal City is “the classic Italian herringbone.” “I often restore antique floors, and I almost always come across oak wood, nailed or glued,” Corrao says. When some clients approach him to install new prefinished plank floors, Corrao often makes the case for restoring their traditional herringbone floors. “The difference is very often who advises you and what they advise you,” Corrao adds. “There are few of us who love and put passion into this sector.”
