Chevron floors have been trending in Istanbul, Turkey, for the last five years, says Sera Kaya of Istanbul-based Hüni Parke, a subsidiary of the Swiss Hüni Group that has been selling and installing luxury wood flooring in Turkey since 1989. For the past decade, oak has been the go-to species for flooring in the ancient city. “Oak’s durability, acceptance of any color on the surface and extensive supply compared to other types of wood makes it a popular choice,” Kaya says.
