5 E 224 Wfb Fm24 Yb Trend HeadshotBasketball court graphics and logos have been getting more and more ambitious, and the gym floors in the Indianola, Iowa, area are no exception, according to Matt Phillips, VP of Indianola, Iowa-based Phillips’ Floors Inc. “We’re seeing a lot of large, multi-tiered logos,” he says. “Really large logos are usually stained, and then painted logos on top of those are added for a layered effect.” Clients have also been asking for water-based finishes and want whiter, less ambered looks. The elaborate custom graphics started blowing up in the area about five years ago. “For schools, it’s a competition,” Phillips says. “If the high school next door got a really cool floor, they’re like, ‘We want a cool new floor, too!’”
