This issue's submission comes from Jim Clarey at Fargo, N.D.-based Natural Accent Hardwood Floors, who spotted this skirt board when bidding a recent job in a historic mansion dating to 1896. "A father/son door builder company installed beautiful mahogany doors and decided they could also redo all the trim. The doors are awesome; the rest of the trim work is God-awful … All four side skirts can be removed with a pinky finger since they fastened them with 18-gauge brads and hit zero studs," he notes, adding that he will be fixing the stairs.
