Social Studies: Getting Visual on Facebook

It was great getting a chance to meet a lot of you, and I was impressed with the enthusiasm many of you shared about your own social media sites. I was frequently asked if I had any tips on how to use social media effectively. My advice: Get visual.

People like pictures, and social networking sites are going to great lengths to incorporate more visual content. The popularity of visual content is what's led to the emergence of sites like Pinterest and Instagram.

Luckily for you, you produce stunning visuals all the time. Your work is your art and it needs to be shared. Many businesses rely on word of mouth recommendations. Social media just takes that word of mouth experience and puts it online. Take advantage of it. Post videos or pictures of every job you do. Whether you're on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, Instagram, or YouTube, share your work with the world. We'd even like to help you get started. Share one of your favorite photos or videos of a job you've done with us (Facebook.com/WoodFloorBusiness or @WFBusinessMag) and we'll share it with all of our followers. Let's see what you can do!
