In the past you may have just browsed Facebook Marketplace in search of furniture or, let's face it, more tools. But Dallas-based Flooring Direct General Sales Manager Steven Wright has developed another use for the Marketplace feature: generating leads. "It's pretty steady. I'll get 60-65 leads per month on my own," Wright says. "We got 83 leads in May." Wright and his sales team post the ads on Marketplace from their personal Facebook accounts. They keep the posts simple, sharing a picture of an installation in progress—a formula that's been successful. "It's like a funnel; the more looks or views you get, the higher up you go and more people see it," Wright says. The Marketplace feature allows users to set a geographic radius for posts, so Wright knows the post is targeting the right people in the rapidly growing North Texas region. "It's free advertising," he says. "Just keep it simple and show pictures of work you're passionate about."
